1 Peter 2:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
With purpose comes a responsibility to understand the importance of association. The Lord chose us, not the world; though, often on this journey, it will appear that the superficial things that the world offers appeal to us more than the promises of God. The Lord anoints as a show of faith, offering us the freedom to apply our gifts in any number of ways that expand his kingdom. The world anoints men as a form of control, placing a mark on them so that when the time is convenient, they can easily be destroyed. Never get so caught up in what appears to be the world’s adulation that we forget we’re already royalty.
