Luke 15:18-20 – I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Meditation – Often, the thing that keeps us from returning home is the road we must take to get back there. That lonesome road traveled is where Satan tries to get us to doubt that we can actually return home; to assume that we won’t be welcomed when we arrive. The road home is where we revisit everything we’ve done and how it has brought us to this place of regret; how that, If we had only chosen to do things differently, we wouldn’t be here. Still, go home. Go back to the place where refuge is given. Never be too proud or too bold for repentance.
