John 21:17 – He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Meditation – “The Lord knows my heart.” We say it all the time, and, it’s true; question is, do we know our heart? In his final moments with his apostles, The Lord reminds Peter, who boldly proclaimed that he’d die for Jesus, only to then deny him, that, it is us who make the decision to follow him; that, saying things does not equate to meaning, believing or even doing them. Discipleship is about doing the work. We all say we love The Lord; it’s mere words until we show proof. In this, Know thyself.
