1 John 3:18 – My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
In a society where we must be able to articulate thoughts and express emotions, words matter. They matter because they are the avenue by which we deliver messages to others. But, while We can tell people all day that we love them, give the most honest assessment of their situation, informing them of what they need in order to be, live, and do better; until we show them that what we say is based in love, the words mean nothing. People will respect being shown the way instead of being told. While ministry should be bold, it must not be so bold that we lose sight of our purpose. As disciples, we should be identified by the love we show and not simply by the words we present. Show before tell.
