Psalms 23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Meditation – consider this; we could waste a lot of time worrying about what might happen in our lives. King David points to the reality that death isn’t the issue at all, but rather the anxiety felt by the uncertainty of life; the evil that is always present; the idea that our enemy at various moments might appear stronger than us. We cannot be so concerned with the path that we forget the purpose. In this, we don’t need to know the twists and turns this life will take us on; all we need know is who is leading us on this journey. Like David, we ought to be emboldened by the rod and staff of the Lord; they protect and comfort us. We
need only listen to Him. He is faithful to lead.
