It Takes Strength to Stand Still

It_takes_strength_to_stand_still.__116

2 Chronicles 20:17 – Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

Meditation – it’s easy to run away. It’s easy to run when we temper our minds to believe we should avoid uneasy situations. It’s easy to run when we become accustomed to causing problems and trying to elude the consequences. It’s easy to run when we lack faith. It takes strength, however, to stand still; strength to see the impending battle and realize it’s not in our hands. It requires strength because we live in this flesh and uncertainty can cause us to fear. When trials come, will I stand or run?
