Matthew 14:28-29 – And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Consider this; the proof of our faith lies in our obedience. Many boldly claim that they are “stepping out on faith”, pointing to Peter who walked out to meet The Lord amidst the troubling waves. Never forget, though, that Peter only stepped out of the boat once he received the call from the Lord. Even as we find ourselves wrapped in the euphoria of a purpose filled existence, working with zeal and enthusiasm, we must always take our queue from The Lord. If he hasn’t bid us to come, anything we do is without his authority.
