Colossians 3:23-24 – And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
As the workweek begins, we must remember that we only work for those who have hired us; we do not serve them. We must not allow the efforts of the day to move us to a place where we forget the one who blesses us with the ability to work and earn. We should always give our absolute best; not for the sake of them, but because we have been redeemed and we are identified by our works, both spiritually and physically. Our daily prayer should be that the words of our mouth and the substance of our heart serve as a continuous testimony that we serve a Lord greater than any workplace struggle. When we truly recognize who controls the day, we are able to go to Him in prayer before allowing anxiety to control us.
